What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way. They help a website remember information between pages or visits.

Necessary cookies

These are needed for the website to work and cannot be switched off:

• tt-consent (local storage) – remembers your cookie choices.
• tt-session (session storage) – an anonymous identifier that prevents the same FAQ feedback from being counted twice; deleted when you close the tab.
• A session-storage entry that remembers that you closed the WhatsApp chat bubble; deleted when you close the tab.
• tt_at, tt_rt, tt_csrf – used only when TAATECH staff sign in to our content management system, to keep them signed in securely.

Preference cookies

tt-theme (local storage) remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance of the website, if you switch it.

Analytics cookies

If you allow analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, for example which pages are visited, how people arrive and which device types are used. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_9PQWJ9VH16, which distinguish visitors and sessions and expire after up to 2 years. Google Analytics is not loaded at all unless you allow analytics cookies, and you can withdraw that choice at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer. See Google's Privacy Policy.

We also keep simple anonymous statistics on our own server, such as article view counts and FAQ searches, which do not use cookies and do not identify you.

Marketing cookies

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.

Embedded content. Some pages may show videos (YouTube, Vimeo) or a map. These services may set their own cookies when you view the embedded content, under their own policies.

Managing your preferences

When you first visit the website you can accept or reject optional cookies. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings; the website will then ask for your choice again.

We will update this policy when the cookies we use change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
